From Ireland to Australia, from the UK to Brazil, the deliberative wave continues to sweep the world and we're excited to be playing our part in that.
We've been busy working on a new structure for the Sortition Foundation that allows our staff team to democratically manage the organisation, but that hasn't stopped us finding the time to support yet more citizens' assemblies to take place through our selection and stratification services. We've also had further successes in our campaign to institutionalise deliberative democracy in Scotland.
We're pleased to have been chosen to continue to support the Newham Standing Citizens' Assembly process. For the first assembly , which took place this summer, Newham residents chose the topic of "greening the borough". The second assembly is due to take place early in 2022, and we'll again be working with Involve and Democratic Society to deliver this. We're learning and documenting the process as we go along, and hope that we'll see a lot more permanent assemblies in the near future.
