Citizens' AssemblyMission & Vision

The Sortition Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to promote and institute sortition in empowered assemblies.

We envision a world free from partisan politicking, where a representative random sample of everyday people make decisions in an informed, deliberative and fair environment.

What we do

The Sortition Foundation wants to transform the way democracy is done.

We want a representative, random sample of people to make empowered decisions about local, regional and national issues. We want our democracies to include sortition.

To this end we are building a network of supporters, and are campaigning to replace the House of Lords with a House of Citizens. To stay informed of our progress please join us.

We are not affiliated with any political party and will remain non-partisan. Any interaction with politicians will attempt to include contact from across the political spectrum.

Contact

Please contact us if you have questions, or suggestions, or want to get involved in any way.
