The Sortition Foundation is currently looking to appoint two new Independent Directors to support our work to transform democracy.
Independent Directors work unpaid, and contribute around 3-10 hours of their time per month.
Currently, we would be particularly interested to receive applications from individuals with backgrounds or experience in the following areas:
- Anti-oppression
- Business development
- Technical oversight
- Legal
We also welcome applications from individuals with experience in other areas related to our work.
We acknowledge that people from certain backgrounds are under-represented in the movement for real democracy and we’re committed to doing what we can to correct this. In our Secondary Rules, we have set the following targets for the composition of our board of directors:
- At least 50% women and at least 30% people of colour.
- We will always encourage people with disabilities to apply.
We recognise that this list is not exhaustive nor intended to be exclusive of other marginalised groups. We would encourage people of any of these groups to consider applying.
