Nick Gill

Nick is a mathematician who works part-time for the Sortition Foundation and part-time as a lecturer in pure mathematics at the Open University. Prior to joining the Sortition Foundation Nick spent 20 years in academia where he taught and did research in group theory.

Nick was motivated to work with the Sortition Foundation by a conviction that democracy, as currently configured, is failing to respond effectively to the pressing concerns of today's world. Deliberative democracy offers a way to remedy this.
