The Future of Primary Health Care

In early 2019 we randomly selected small samples of people for the Scottish Parliament's Committee Engagement Unit to deliberate on issues including future of primary health care.

We also selected 20 participants to take part in a Citizens' Panel in early 2021 exploring the question, "What priorities should shape the Scottish Government's approach to COVID-19 restrictions and strategy in 2021?"

What could the future of driverless vehicles look like in Greater Manchester?

In 2019 we did the selection for a 25 member Citizens’ Conversation on the future of driverless vehicles in Greater Manchester. This was part of a World Wide Views series organised by French think-tank Missions Publiques, who coordinated citizens’ debates on this topic across Europe, North America and Singapore.

Should assisted dying be permitted in Jersey and, if so, under what circumstances?

We randomly selected 23 people for this Citizens' Jury, which is being held in March, April and May 2021.

How do we recover from COVID-19 and create a better future for all in Bristol?

We randomly selected 60 people for a series of three Citizens' Assemblies, which are being held in January, February and March 2021.

What are your aspirations and priorities for Wyndham City and where should we focus our resources and efforts?

We randomly selected participants for a series of place-based conversations bringing together people from across Wyndham (Victoria, Australia) to discuss what matters to them.

How do you connect with water in your local environment, and what needs to be changed in the future to benefit people and wildlife?

We randomly selected a total of 64 participants for three Citizens' Juries on the future of water, bringing together a diverse range of people who live, work or play in and around the River Ouseburn, River Wharfe and the River Thames.

What practical steps should we take together to address the climate crisis and restore nature in a way that is fair for everyone?

We selected a total of 80 participants over four Climate and Fairness Panel events for the think tank IPPR. These took place in four geographically, socially and economically distinct areas of the UK, (the South Wales Valleys, Aberdeenshire, Tees Valley and County Durham and Thurrock) and the deliberations reflected and informed the specific local situations, while also feeding into national-level findings for IPPR's Environmental Justice Commission.

What should we do in Blaenau Gwent to tackle the climate crisis in a way that is fair and improves living standards for everyone?

We did a 50 person selection for this climate event in Wales. The project was a collaboration of 4 housing associations - United Welsh, Tai Calon, Linc Cymru and Melin Homes - working in partnership with Cynnal Cymru, the Electoral Reform Society and Blaenau Gwent Borough County Council. 

How can we live and work together safely given the current and any future viruses?

We did the random selection of a demographically representative one hundred person Public Advisory Group for the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS Test and Trace to explore some of the dilemmas our society faces in relation to the current pandemic, and to inform future decision making. The deliberations happened over seven sessions in May and June 2021.

How should Devon meet the big challenges of climate change?

We did the recruitment and random selection of 70 participants for the Devon Climate Assembly.

The event was commissioned by the Devon Climate Emergency Partnership which is a partnership of 25 public, private, voluntary and community organisations that have come together and are working to accelerate Devon’s journey to net-zero carbon and further its adaptation planning for a warmer world.

What is your vision for the future of Fairlop Waters?

We did the recruitment and selection of 36 people for this event asking local residents to be involved in developing a vision for the future of Fairlop Waters which is one of the largest country parks in Redbridge.
