Rachel Oliver

Director

Rachel is an independent director with the Sortition Foundation and a freelance facilitator and campaigns consultant. She supports organisations and movements working to transform political and economic systems so they are just and equitable, and has particular expertise in people-powered campaigning. She worked as a campaigner at 38 Degrees, then for eight years at Positive Money as head of campaigns then director of public engagement, where she ran a deliberative democracy process on the cost of living with a local council. She believes passionately that if we’re to have thriving communities and a healthy planet, we need to transfer decision making power away from politicians and towards representative groups of citizens, at the local, national and international level. Away from work she loves to dance, wack tennis balls, sea swim, and trying her hand at comic improvisation.
