Scotland's Climate Assembly

The selection for Scotland's Climate Assembly took place during the last week of September 2020, and we are proud to be part of this important initiative.

Over a hundred people have been chosen, stratified by age, gender, ethnicity, disability, geography, rurality, household income and attitude towards climate change. The resulting mix is a microcosm of Scottish society, a group of people who are a kind of Scotland-in-miniature.

The first meetings will be taking place on the 7th and 8th of November, but if you haven't been chosen and would like to get involved, there is an online forum that will be opening up before then to collect ideas from the whole community to share with assembly members. All sessions of the assembly will also be livestreamed.

We're keeping an eye on all the developments, but to understand the process, the arguments and the people involved, follow the assembly's Instagram channel, which combines gorgeous graphics with easy to digest information.
