The SORT-EU network, coordinated by Sortition Europe, is a network of more than 30 organisations across the European Union that have agreed to collaborate on transnational and other democratic lotteries.
These organisations, responsible for in-country recruitment and related communication in each EU member state, share a common belief: that citizens' assemblies selected by democratic lottery are among the most effective ways to bridge the gap between institutions and the people they serve. As we continue our work across the continent, we remain committed to unlocking the democratic potential of sortition-based processes—bringing everyday people into meaningful dialogue and decision-making about Europe’s future.
